The Casebook of Morgan Elliot: The Sign of Three

An original dieselpunk noir espionage thriller set in a reimagined London in 1936, where the future has arrived early and brought trouble with it.

About the story

She's a riddle... Wrapped in a mystery... Inside... an enigma.

London, 1936. The old King is dead. The new King reigns from the bedroom, with champagne as policy and adultery as statecraft. The Nazi shadow lengthens while Whitehall practises desperate optimism.

Morgan Elliot calls herself a private investigator. In truth, she is Whitehall's undocumented fixer: a codebreaker, intelligence operative and weapon of last resort.

When a spoilt American heiress leaves Morgan's partner and a German mathematician dead, the trail leads into the glittering machinery of the Second Great Exhibition and a conspiracy above the paygrade of the impoverished British Establishment.

Concealed behind the promise of progress, a global consortium of industrialists is already devising the next world war as an investment strategy: investment in weapons, data and the technology to classify, control and eliminate populations.

Morgan must crack the Sign of Three before mass murder becomes the most profitable enterprise on earth.

Building the Feature

The Sign of Three is being produced shot by shot through discrete production sprints.

We are developing and stress-testing emerging AI assisted workflows across image, video, performance, sound and post-production. These are integrated with established filmmaking craft in an ethical, artist-led workflow for ambitious cinema at scale.

The visual language, storyworld and AI assisted workflow are established. Production is continuing towards completion, finishing, festivals and distribution.
